Mount McKendrick; Mountain Goats and Recreation Management

Voluntary Closure; year round, motorized and non-motorized recreation above 1550 m

The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resources, and Rural Development have put in place a voluntary closure for both non-motorized and motorized recreation in the Mt. McKendrick area due to concerns with the goat population. This year-round closure will be in place for two years while the MFLNRORD assesses the population and threats affecting it. Signage is being installed and compliance with the closure will be monitored. The closure is applicable to 1550 m and above on Mt. McKendrick.
